Our body's ability to sense where our arms and legs and other parts of our body are in space and in relationship to each other, without having to look, is called proprioception.

5 Minute Mind-Form (Martial Qigong) Exercise Session, 6-20-2022

Perform a minimum of 3x to start. When completing the last form, repeat from the first standing position.

There is a lot more to this exercise as far as focus, etc., as well as some movements-forms that have been omitted (but will be present in later videos). For now, just get your feet wet first in following along.

Key Notes:

  • 0:01 – Start in Seiza position; focus on abdominal (Buddhist) breathing; perform 10 control breaths.
  • 1:00 – Step with right leg (left can be used as well) into a kneel position; arms go into a modified guard position (upper arm protects Shen, lower arm protects lower dantian).
  • 1:07 – Prayer (respect) form into Qi Refresh
  • 1:25 – Begin Wai Dan Qigong Exercise
  • 2:29 – Martial Guard (Muay Chaiya)
  • 2:30 – Qigong “Yin Yang Exercise” both right and left side- then into Martial (Muay Boran) Techniques (3:10) Incorporate Martial (Muay Chaiya “Boran”) Balance Hold with each form for 3 controlled breaths.
  • 3:48 – Qigong Exercise – Lungs; perform 3x
  • 4:40 – Qi Refresh 3x
  • 4:52 – Reset for round two
