BREATH WORK

BREATHING IS SOMETHING THAT IS OFTEN OVERLOOKED AND RARELY PRACTICED

We know that we need to have a healthy and strong body, which comes from exercising and eating healthy. While this helps for physical and mental health, we could say that air is more important as we cannot function or live long without it.

Learning and implementing proper breathing techniques can assist with invoking the body’s innate relaxation response, help lower blood pressure, slow your heart rate down, and provide a faster rate of toxin elimination just to name a few of the many benefits.

There are many different breathing techniques available and the wonderful thing them is that they can be practiced anytime and anywhere.

As far as where to start, we start with the foundation of breathing which is Abdominal breathing (or Natural or Belly breathing as it is also referred to as). This is the type of breathing that we typically use throughout the day, yet the one we typically perform incorrectly.

Again, this and other breathing practices can be used on their own to help enhance your spiritual meditation practice, as well as your martial arts or gym training. As long as you are disciplined enough to consistently practice, over time you will find yourself reaching a deeper level of physical and mental health.
