This is something we all should be doing daily regardless whether we’re doing any physical activity or not that particular day. Alas, it usually winds up a “if I have time” moment in our day. (We do have time). I make sure to squeeze mine in, in the morning before diving in my meditation session; as well as right before any training that I do.
View warming up daily like this:
- It will benefit you mentally as well as physically.
- It will increase joint range of motion.
- It will decrease your risk of muscular injury by improving your muscle elasticity.
- It raises your core body temperature.
In the video is my routine that I’ve set-up and based around the needs of my Qigong and Martial Arts training. There also are additional stretches that I may add, switch out at certain times if I feel I need to. I try to keep my warm-up routine around 15 mins max or so.
I recommend building a warm-up around the needs of your program, as well as your body.
